Edwardian Bathrooms
Do you have annoying neighbours?
I do, there is no soundproofing at all in our flats (a converted Edwardian (?) Villa) my downstairs neighbours would moan all of the time if we merely had the cheek to walk around our home! Thankfully they have now moved to a vacant top floor flat next door to their awful friends who live above us and are quite possibly the nosiest most irritating people to live below (not to mention the fact that on several occasions we have had water flowing through our kitchen and bathroom light fittings for various reasons all their fault!)
What do your neighbours do to annoy you, or do you like them?
As I type, they have just set off the smoke alarm cooking their dinner and are now banging around presumeably trying to get it to stop!
I used to have a really annoying and downright nasty neighbour in my old flat. She lived upstairs and always put her washing machine on at 1.30am on a Sunday night/Monday morning and her kitchen was diagonly above our bedroom. I politely told her that it was keeping us awake and if there was some sort of compromise we could come to. She told me ‘F**k off I work all day and I will do my effing washing when I want to.’ Which would have been fair enough except I got in from work at 9.30pm (after being at college and work I was out 12 hours a day and still managed to do my washing at a normal hour) and she was always in by the time I got in.
A couple of nights later her and one of her many revolving door boyfriends tried to smash my windows. I called the police but they couldn’t do anything about it without an independent witness (her and her boyfriend claimed to be in another place at the time). She started to have parties every weekend. She had a revolving door on her bedroom and I got to hear every single sound that they made.
I had the anti social task force out continually and they sent her numerous warnings but she never changed. She used to shout things through my letterbox when she was drunk, but if she ever saw me face to face in the carpark she would always quicken her pace which made me laugh in the end.
What made it worse was that she did this all in front of her 8 year old son.
