I’m redoing my room! any suggestions?
I’m a 14 year old girl, and this is my room right now:

I want the walls painted, and I would like the whole room to have a theme of like light blue & light green.
I love modern furniture and all that stuff, and I want a sophisticated room that is appropriate for a teen girl, but not too fancy.
Price is important, unfortunately, and I’m not going to hire an interior designer as they are pretty expensive so I’m just going to be doing it on my own and with my parents help (and yours, of course!)

Your best source for decorating is HGTV.com. Put in the colors you like in their search and check them out.
Blues and greens remind me of ocean waters, which are also enhanced with tans and browns.
Taking the furniture you have and painting it white (if it isn’t already) is a great back drop. Hanging sheer fabric from the ceiling out over your bed, gives that filmy yet breezing feeling.
There is a rope you can buy from the fabric store that looks like the stuff that is used on ships. You can use it to coil around lamps, hang the fabric from the ceiling or use as tie backs.
Be imaginative and do tons of research online. Watch the decorating TV shows to get ideas. Mix and match.
One thing you can do to make your room look bigger is buy crown moulding and put it 2 to 4 inches down from the ceiling around the room. Then paint that part of the wall and the ceiling the same color. It makes the room look twice as big.
